Language Arts
We will be following the Alberta education curriculum for Grade 1. Click the link for the Grade 1 at a Glance handout.
Topics covered include phonics, spelling, reading, writing, listening, viewing, representing, and speaking.
We will start the year with Alphabet and Sounds review followed by word patterns that involve the SHORT vowel sounds. Our Home reading program has also started and we ask that you read with your child every night to help build a strong foundation.
